ABOUT THE COMPETITION

We are searching for THE BEST HIGH SCHOOL TALENT across Northern Virginia!

We are currently in the registration/audition phase of the BRING IT competition, which will conclude on January 6, 2020. Our judges will review all the registered acts and look closely at their audition video. They will select the ten “School Acts” and the ten “Community Acts” (with some alternates) to compete at the live BRING IT show. The final line up of acts will be announced on or before January 10, 2020. At the January 24 live competition, the judges will score the acts, select the winners, and announce the first and second place recipients for both categories that night. The audience will be given the chance to vote for the third place winners, who will be announced on this website on January 27!
The high schools in our area are filled with very talented student performers! We are thankful to provide a venue and stage where they will be able to shine. Over the past three years, we have been blessed with a wide range of school acts – including drum-lines, instrumental ensembles, dance teams, improv teams, step teams, and choral groups (acapella, madrigals, show, jazz). We would love to have all our high school performing arts teams be represented. One performance category that has been missing so far has been in the drama departments. Help us get the word out to your school’s performing arts groups – to register and audition so they can BRING IT on January 24!
There has been a great increase in high school students who are a part of both community and group acts in this age of “American Idol” and “America’s Got Talent.” BRING IT has been to have a wide range of performers in this category; several of which who have gone on to use their talents professionally. In the past we have had vocalists, guitar/singers, instrumentalists, garage/rock bands, and dance. We would love to have some new types of groups added this year – including spoken word, illusionists, standup comedy, juggling, - you name it. Help us get the word out to any high school age performers and direct them to our web site. We would love for BRING IT to be the place where the top high school acts and performers can come together and compete and be recognized.
BRING IT has been blessed to have a great panel of judges that all have experience in the performing arts. The panel has included a performer who plays professionally in a band on a full time basis, a music instructor who trains high school musicians, a member of the band “Asleep at the Wheel” who won a Grammy for his bass playing, and a dance performer and instructor. We are still finalizing our panel of judges for the BRING IT 2020 competition.
